In Ireland, Small Public Service Vehicles (SPSVs) are vehicles with seating for up to eight persons excluding the driver.
There are a total of 26,324 active SPSV vehicle licences as of 1st April 2008. This is broken down into 70% taxis, 19% hackneys, 6% wheelchair accessible taxis and 5% limousines.
