There is no real excuse to drink and drive this summer. That’s the central message of a new national advertising campaign being launched jointly by the Commission for Taxi Regulation and the Road Safety Authority.
The new “Friends” themed campaign will hit the airways next Monday (July 7th, 2008) and depicts a variety of summertime group events where friends gather together for fun and enjoyment. The common theme drawing the events together is that a licensed taxi, hackney or limousine is always there to make sure they arrive and get home safely.
The Commission has welcomed the submissions received regarding 'Consultation Paper No. 5, National Maximum Taxi Fare Revision' published on 7th April 2008. The closing date was 13th June 2008. The large volume of submissions received are now being analysed and reviewed. Submissions were made by Industry members Consumer and other interested parties.
The Commission for Taxi Regulation has today published “Consultation Paper Number 5, “National Maximum Taxi Fare Revision”. The paper invites views from anyone with an interest in the taxi industry, including drivers, dispatch operators, customers and representative bodies, on whether certain aspects of the taxi fare should be changed this year.
