The Commission for Taxi Regulation has today published new vehicle standards for the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including taxis, hackneys and limousines. The new standards will bring in reforms across a wide range of areas within the sector on a phased basis from 2008 to 2012.

The Commission for Taxi Regulation has welcomed the submissions received on Consultation Paper No.4 'Vehicle Standards' which was published on 18th December 2006.

Mr. Ger Deering, Commissioner for Taxi Regulation, has been appointed as the new director of the National Employment Rights Authority and he will be taking up his position in the coming weeks.
